Classic yacht ‘Ranzo’ reg No 162460 was the original prototype boat built by Robertsons in 1932 in Woodbridge, Suffolk. It was Bermudian rigged, had a length of 22ft, a beam of 7ft 2 in and a draft of 3ft. Constructed from pitch pine planking on grown oak frames with steamed intermediate timbers all copper rivet fastened.  Oak keel, deadwoods and stem and stern posts. Galvanised iron strap floors. Iron external ballast keel.

Ranzo moved to Jersey in 1936. Sadly after 80 years sailing around the Channel Islands, Ranzo had fallen into dis-repair and was destined for the incinerator. Fortunately Ranzo was offered to me for re-cycling and it immediately felt fitting that such a beautiful boat could be used as a canvas for my ceramic artwork and become the inspiration for my 10-year anniversary exhibition ‘Shipwrecked’
